A Gem of a Spot

We stayed here for a family reunion—15 adults (one of them in her nineties) and four babies under the age of two. We usually spend our reunions camping but with all the babies this year, that was going to be difficult. We were so happy we found this house! It was perfect! It’s got a smattering of beds and baths so all the families had their own space. Everything was taken care of—linens, towels, soap, toilet paper, even a large coffee maker! This made for a truly relaxing experience. The property is extremely wooded and private, which helped us “feel” like we were camping but with all the convenience of a house nearby. We loved the quirkiness of the two houses joined by a large deck and all the old books throughout the place. We very much enjoyed the fire pit, volleyball courts, and walking paths. And the barn—wow! What a terrific place for a party, which is exactly what we held, complete with square dancing!

The only drawback is that it may be a bit of a drive to area attractions (this wasn’t a problem for us since we actually didn’t leave the site for our entire two-day stay and we still had plenty to do).
